Finish with a Bachelor Degree

Start in high school or as an incumbent worker with the AM/IST program; continue on for an associate degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology at Reading Area Community College; and finish with a bachelor degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology from Purdue University, Calumet or a bachelor degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State, Berks. Both schools have agreed to accept a significant number of RACC credits toward their degree programs.

The articulation agreement between RACC and Purdue was announced at PackExpo 2008 in Chicago. Purdue is believed to be the first school in the country to offer a bachelor degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology. Like the RACC program, the Purdue program is also oriented towards the needs of the packaging machinery industry. As a result of the similarities of the education offered, Purdue has agreed to accept 66 credits. Click here to read the press release on this agreement.

Similar to the Purdue agreement, Penn State, Berks has agreed to articulate 55 credits toward a bachelor degree in electro-mechanical engineering technology. The proximity of the Berks campus to RACC makes this a convenient way for a student to continue his or her education in the region.
